One of the biggest problems with email for everyone is Unsolicited Commercial Email, known more commonly as SPAM. As an answer to this problem, Worldlink announces the unveiling of Spambuster.

Spambuster allows you to manage your own email so that you receive email from only those addresses you want.

Spambuster uses three color coded lists of email addresses: Green, Yellow, and Red.

The green list contains addresses of those people from whom you want to get email. You can add and remove people to the list whenever you want.

The yellow list is the list of addresses of those people who have tried sending you mail, but were not on the green or red list.

The red list contains addresses of those people from whom you do NOT EVER want to get email. You can add and remove people to the list whenever you want.

How It Works:

Someone is trying to send you mail. If the sender's email address is not in your Green List or Red List, Spambuster adds that email address to your Yellow List and is transfered to your Junkmail box. It also sends an email back to the original sender saying that the message was not delivered. This email contains a link so that the sender can add him/herself to your green list. The sender can only add him/herself to the Green List if the address is still in the Yellow List.

You can also add that address to your Green or Red Lists.

The Green List:

Email sent from addresses in this list will be delivered to your inbox normally. These are addresses from which you want mail. You can add addresses manually or by clicking the "Add" button next to addesses in the Yellow list. You can delete addresses by clicking "Delete" next to the address.

The Yellow List:

The Yellow List contains email addresses of those people who have tried to send mail to you, and are not in your Green or Red Lists. You can add an address to the Green List by clicking on "Allow", or add it to the Red List by clicking on " Deny". The email itself will be in your Junkmail folder for you to read or delete.

The Red List:

Email sent from addresses in this list will be discarded. You will not even know it was sent. The sender will not get a reply. You can remove addresses from this list by clicking "Del" next to the address.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

Q: How do I access Spambuster?

A: After we enable Spambuster on your account, login to Webmail. There you will see a tab at the top labeled Spambuster.

Q: If anyone can add themselves to my Green List, won't spammers do that?

A: In most cases, no. Spammers put bogus email addresses as their reply, so the spammer will never get the email with the link to add themselves to your Green List.

In the rare instance that someone adds themselves to your Green List from whom you don't want mail, you can simply move that address to the Red List, and that person can not add themselves to your Green List ever again.

Q: My Great Aunt Edna is not very computer savy and I don't think she will be able to figure out how to add herself to my Green List. What do I do about that?

A: You can add her email address to your Green List yourself. In fact, when you first set up Spambuster, you can look through your current inbox and add all the addresses you want and those people will not even know you are protected from spam.

Q: I just bought the Ronco FD5 Food Dehydrator, Yogurt Maker and Beef Jerky Machine from amazon.com, and they are going to send a confirmation email. I don't know what email address to allow. What do I do?

A: You can allow any email from amazon.com by adding the line "@amazon.com" (without the quotes) to your Green List. If you start getting spam from amazon, you can remove it from your Green List at any time. Or you can deactivate Spambuster completely untill your email arrives.

Q: I see an e-mail address in my yellow list. Can I read the meaage?

A: Yes. Simply click on the Junkmail folder and your message should be there.
