To set up the ASP Guestbook script:

1. First, download the ntguestbook.zip file and unzip the files. Make sure you read all documentation before you begin so as to understand everything involved (and spare wasted time later on).
2. Open up guestbook.asp in any text editor (Notepad or Wordpad work best). Change the variables near the top of the script to meet your specifications.

   This is the only line you MUST change:

   • Const sPath = "D:\InetPub\virtual\yourdomain\guestbook.txt"

   Where yourdomain is your domain name without the .com, .net, or .org.

3. You can change the Options below the Variables as you see fit, however the defaults will work fine for nearly everyone.
4. Upload the guestbook.asp page and the guestbook.txt page to your main home page directory using a standard FTP program. Make sure you use ASCII transfer and not binary.
5. To add or view a guestbook entry, go to the page http://www.yourdomain.com/guestbook.asp
6. To remove entries from the guestbook, edit the guestbook.txt file and remove the offending lines.
7. If you have any problems, please e-mail the webmaster with specific error messages or problems.
